Lactation Consults with Katie
For new and current clients
I offer consults both in person and through Telehealth. Appointments often can be arranged for the next day or sometimes the same day.
I am in network with some insurances. If your insurance plan is listed below, please contact me here with your name and phone number to check coverage and schedule an appointment.

Insurance coverage
I accept some insurances. Specific plans I work with (as of 1/20/26) include:
Aetna PPO, Point of service, and Open Access Plus plans. (I also work with some some local Select plans and subsidiary plans; please contact me to check.)
Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO & EPO plans — these include Anthem PPO (except PPO Prudent Buyer), Federal BCBS (Basic, Standard, & PPO), Regency PPP, and Premera PPO.
Cigna PPO, POS, OAP, & EPO plans. (HMO plans require a referral.)
United Healthcare/UMR/GEHA/Empire/Oxford PPO & EPO plans. (I also work with some some UHC HMO plans as well as some Doctor’s Plan, Navigator, Core, and Nexus plans; please contact me to check.)
Important notes & disclaimers on in-network insurance plans
It is the client's responsibility to know their plan’s benefits. Any applicable travel fees are not covered by insurance and are the full responsibility of the client. In addition, many eligible insurance plans have a small amount of cost sharing for which the client is responsible. If your insurance plan includes a deductible that must be met before coverage begins, you may be responsible for that cost. The insurance plans with which I am in network are subject to change at any time without notice to the public.
Travel fees for in-person consults
Zone 1 — No travel fee
NY: Allegany, Carrollton, Cuba, Hinsdale, Humphrey, Ischua, Limestone, Olean, Portville, Salamanca, Weston’s Mills
PA: Duke Center, Eldred, Rixford, Shinglehouse
Zone 2 — $30 travel fee
NY: Alma, Angelica, Ashford, Belfast, Belmont, Bolivar, Ellicottville, Franklinville, Friendship, Great Valley, Little Valley, Machias, Petrolia, Red House, Richburg, Scio, Steamburg
PA: Bradford, Custer City, Lewis Run, Liberty, Milport, Port Allegany, Turtlepoint, Rew, Smethport
Zone 3 — $50 travel fee
NY: Alfred, Andover, Axeville, Cattaraugus, Conewango, Delevan, East Otto, East Randolph, Ellington, Kennedy, Fillmore, Freedom, Napoli, Otto, Randolph, Waterboro, Wellsville, West Valley, Yorkshire
PA: Coudersport, Kane, Mt. Jewett

Self-Pay Clients
For my self-pay clients, full payment is the responsibility of the client and due by the time of service. Clients may pay with eligible HSA/FSA cards. I provide all self-pay clients with a superbill they can submit to their insurer for potential reimbursement, listing the cost of our consult minus any travel fees. I cannot guarantee that your insurer with whom I am not in network will cover our visit(s) in full or in part, nor can I communicate with your insurance company on your behalf. It is best to contact them beforehand to determine your coverage if you plan to seek reimbursement. Please contact me if you need to arrange a payment plan. I will do my best to respond within 24 hours.
Follow-up consults
Lactation issues can be complex, involving multiple body systems of multiple people. Follow-up visits are typically recommended, and always beneficial, to help you track progress, gain confidence, and reach your infant feeding goals.
After booking, please complete the client intake form included in your confirmation email.
